PALACE ON WHEELS

Palace on wheels is a luxury train that takes you on a most unforgettable experience of a majestic land of dunes and heritage palaces. It is the four best luxurious trains in the world. The name palace on wheels was derived from the royal background. It carries with it an intrinsic ambiance that goes perfectly well with the majestic charm and beauty spread so lavishly across the Indian terrain.
After independence, coaches of the train are parked in Rajasthan in 1981-82 and Rajasthan tourism development corporation and Indian Railways launch special heritage tourist train for providing an unforgettable experience to the tourist visiting Rajasthan.
Previously in the late 1980s, the maharajas were replacing meter gauge to broad gauge train.
In 1996, a broad gauge version of the palace on wheels.
In Sept 2017, new carriage have been introduced for more spacious in size and much better options to book deluxe and super deluxe cabins.

Rovos Rail is a private rail company that is operating out of Capital Park Station in Pretoria, South Africa.
It is started in 1989 by Rohan Vos and it is still owned by the family.
Rovos rail employs a staff of 210, from the on-board staff to those working to restore carriage in the company’s capital park depot.
Rovos rail runs its train-hotel to a regular schedule on various routes throughout South Africa, from SA to Namibia and Tanzania. The train consist of restored Rhodesia Railways ( NRZ ) coaches with 2 lounge, 2 restaurant cars and private sleeping compartments, each with private ensuite facilities.
